Help UBC Junior Varsity Baseball Take on Season Two

Big dreams, small budget. UBC’s Junior Varsity Program needs your help to gear up for our second CCBC season. Join the team behind the team.

Project Description

Baseball at UBC is growing.

Since 2016, the Junior Varsity Program has given students access to outstanding facilities and knowledgeable coaches dedicated to their development. But with a competition schedule made up mainly of exhibition games, players were missing the chance to compete in a formal league.

In 2025, the Canadian College Baseball Conference recognized the program and invited the Junior Varsity team to join the league. The program was rebranded and restructured ahead of its inaugural CCBC season in 2026.

Now, the team is preparing for season two.

A full CCBC season costs more. Players need proper gear, along with flights to Calgary and Lethbridge. Bus trips are needed for games at Okanagan College and TRU, with hotel stays along the way.

With a limited budget, your support can help cover these costs and give players what they need to compete. It also helps UBC Junior Varsity Baseball keep building on its first season in the CCBC.

Challenges and Impact of Your Support

Playing in the CCBC gives players the formal league experience they had been missing and the chance to pursue a championship in May. It also brings added travel and equipment costs.

That’s where your support can help.

Your contribution can help ease the pressure on families by supporting equipment and travel costs. It can help get players on flights, buses and into hotels when the team is on the road.

That means more attention can stay on the players and their development throughout the season. Your support also helps the program continue building a strong team culture as it enters its second year in the CCBC.

About the University Baseball Club

UBC has had both a Varsity Baseball Team and a Junior Varsity Team for over a decade. With support from UBC Athletics and Recreation, along with strong interest from players and the efforts of key stakeholders, the University Baseball Club has taken on a new identity and now competes in the Canadian College Baseball Conference.

The club is made up of full-time UBC students who want to continue chasing their baseball dream while completing their studies. Player fees give them access to professional training and some of the best facilities in Canada. They also have the chance to build lasting friendships and represent UBC in the CCBC.

The team comes together approximately 90 times in the fall to improve baseball skills and functional strength. Preparation continues in January and February before the regular season begins in March. The CCBC Champion is crowned at the end of May.

Your support can help the team make the most of season two.
