Second Annual Memorial Slo-Pitch Tournament for Men’s Mental Health
Join the Armed and Hammered Memorial Slo-Pitch team as we come together again to honour the memory of Dylan Forsythe and Liam Castle and raise vital funds for men’s mental health awareness and support.
Project Description
We continue to honour the memory of two incredible souls—Dylan Forsythe and Liam Castle—who were not only our teammates, but also our close friends. Both left a lasting impact on everyone they met. In their memory, we’re proud to host the Second Annual Dylan Forsythe & Liam Castle Slo-Pitch Memorial Tournament: a weekend dedicated to celebrating their lives and raising awareness for men’s mental health—a cause that has become especially important in the wake of their loss.
This year’s tournament will take place on August 23 and 24 at McLeod Athletic Park’s four main diamonds, near the Rotary Field House. After the overwhelming success of our first tournament, our community has continued to rally together, showing incredible support for this important cause. It’s a powerful reminder of how vital mental health awareness is to so many of us, especially for men.
Impact of Your Support
All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to HeadsUpGuys, a UBC-based program dedicated to supporting men battling depression and reducing the stigma around mental health. Together, we play for Dylan, for Liam and for every man who needs to know he’s not alone.
In Canada, men account for three out of four suicide deaths. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for men under the age of 50—but with the right support and resources, lives can be saved.
HeadsUpGuys supports men in managing depression, reducing their risk of suicide, and empowering them to lead healthier, more connected lives. Your support will honour Dylan and Liam while making a difference for others who are struggling.

Launched in 2015 as a free, research-based public education program of the University of British Columbia, HeadsUpGuys has grown into the world’s leading mental health resource for men and their supporters. Every week, more than 10,000 people from over 50 countries rely on our resource to help them live healthier and happier lives.
HeadsUpGuys is led by Dr. John Ogrodniczuk, Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the UBC Psychotherapy Program. The team consists of expert clinicians, researchers and mental health advocates who are united in the mission to support men’s mental health. Together, we strive to create a world where men prioritize their mental health and where suicide is no longer a leading cause of death for men of any age.
