Support Creative and Critical Studies Students

Students in Creative and Critical Studies need our support. Let’s come together and help students during these challenging times.

Project Description

The past year has been challenging for students in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies (FCCS) at UBC Okanagan. In addition to the normal financial pressures of being a student, FCCS students have had to adjust to new ways of learning and a lack of employment opportunities.

In an effort to support students, Jordan Stouck, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, has kindly donated her $3,000 Provost’s Award in Teaching Excellence & Innovation prize. And she invites other UBCO faculty and staff to join her in supporting FCCS students.

Challenges and Impact of Your Support

Financial support through scholarships, bursaries, and awards provides a huge relief to students. It allows them to focus on their studies and not have to worry about where tuition, groceries, or even their next rent check payment will come from.

Our goal is to raise $6,000 to create a $2,000 award for a student in each department in FCCS. Your gift today will help to ensure that every deserving student has an opportunity to learn and succeed.

About the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies

FCCS was formally established at UBC Okanagan in 2005 with a mandate to foster an environment that promotes interdisciplinary scholarship, creative arts practice, and learning. It brings together a wide range of academic disciplines and artistic practices through the departments of Creative Studies, English and Cultural Studies, and Languages and World Literature, combining traditional scholarship and creation in the humanities and arts with contemporary technologies and experience-based learning.
