UBC Men’s Tennis Team Runathon

For the first time in school history, the UBC Men’s Tennis Team has qualified for the Canadian University Tennis Championship this August! Your support of this runathon, which will take place on August 1st 2022 around the Stanley Park seawall, will help to make this unprecedented trip affordable for all team members.

Project Description

This year in early March, the team won the Western Division Championships against the University of Alberta Golden Bears to claim a spot at the Canadian University Nationals this coming August. The opportunity to attend the largest event in university tennis in the country has been a longtime goal of many in the program, and the team is ready! By supporting our runathon you help make this event possible for everyone to attend.

Challenges and Impact of Your Support

As a team within the UBC Thunderbirds Sport Club Program, the players are responsible for most costs (training, equipment, uniforms, travel, competition). Your support will help cover these costs as the team prepares and trains for Nationals.

About the UBC Men’s Tennis Team

We are a diverse group of students with a strong passion for tennis and for the growth of University tennis in Canada. We are proud to be representing ourselves and UBC at the highest level of Canadian University tennis. As a team within the UBC Thunderbird Sport Club Program, we are student driven and financially self-sustaining. We are responsible for all aspects of the organization of our team including scheduling competitions, renting practice facilities, booking travel, hiring our coaches and fundraising for our team just to name a few.
