Support TSC Alpine Ski with their biggest year yet!
The UBC Thunderbirds Alpine Ski Sport Club is a competitive ski team that races throughout North America in the United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) circuit. The club is fully student run and funded through team fees, fundraising, and sponsorships. Our ultimate goal this season is to return to the USCSA Nationals in Lake Placid, New York and your our generous donations could help get us there!
Story Description
The USCSA Nationals is a race where the top universities go head to head and race for the USCSA Champion title. We are especially driven to go to Nationals as the only Canadian ski team in the circuit and it would be amazing to represent our country once again. We are determined to bring as many athletes as possible with us, and this is where we need your help!
Challenges & Impact of Your Support
As a Thunderbird competitive sport club, the majority of our funding is from team fees paid by athletes and your generous donations. We will be flying with all our ski gear and hopefully 10 athletes to Lake Placid, New York. The cost of travel (flights, rental cars, gas, accommodations) and entry fees are around $500 USD per athlete. Your donations would go towards bringing down the cost to our athletes, allowing them to stay focused on their academics and competition.
About UBC Thunderbirds Alpine Ski Sport Club
The UBC Alpine Ski team is one of the oldest teams at UBC. The team is run by seven dedicated and hardworking student athletes. The team is 40 members strong this year and have been training hard to earn their spot at nationals. As one of two Canadian universities still with a competitive ski team, we are determined to keep our team as strong contenders by training twice a week, whether it is in the gym or on the hills at Grouse Mountain. We are extremely lucky to have a great relationship with Grouse and our alumni that gives us opportunities for further improvement and development of the team and our program.
