UBC Alpine Ski Sport Club

Give your support to the UBC Alpine Ski Team, and help them travel to Jackson, Wyoming, to compete in the USCSA Nationals!

Story Description

Returning to the USCSA Nationals is our goal for the season! It is where the best of the universities come together and race it out for the title of being the USCSA Champion. We are especially driven to go to Nationals because we are the only Canadian ski team in the circuit and it would be amazing to represent our country. This year the competition is across the continent in Jackson, Wyoming. We are determined to bring as many athletes as possible with us. This is where we need your help!

Challenges & Impact of Your Support

As a Thunderbird competitive sport club, the majority of our funding is from team fees paid by athletes and your generous donations. We will be driving 1,800 km across the Western USA to Wyoming. Within the cost of travel are rental cars, gas, accommodations, and entry fees which are around $500 USD per athlete. Your donations would go towards bringing down the travel cost per athlete.

About the UBC Alpine Ski Sport Club

The UBC Alpine Ski team is one of the oldest teams at UBC. The team is run by four dedicated and hardworking student athletes. The team is 25 members strong this year and have been training hard to earn their spot at nationals. As one of two Canadian universities still with a competitive ski team, we are determined to keep our team as strong contenders by training twice a week, whether it is in the gym or on the hills at Grouse Mountain. We are extremely lucky to have a great relationship with Grouse and our alumni that gives us opportunities for further improvement and development of the team and our program.
