Support UBC Women’s Rugby
In the 2024–25 season, the UBC Women’s Rugby program made history, winning our first-ever U SPORTS National Championship, our second National Rugby 7s title, and fielding three successful teams in the BC Women’s Leagues. To maintain a winning culture, we need a strong development system and strong competition for the varsity program.
Project Description
The UBC Thunderbird Women’s Rugby program has a proud history and has been building momentum to establish a legacy of success on the field and inside the classroom. The funds raised will support our UBC Club Rugby program, which allows our student-athletes the opportunity to play the sport they love all year round and help them prepare for the upcoming competitive season. Enhancing the student experience is a priority and with your backing, our Thunderbird student-athletes can continue to access key services relating to their studies and their physical and mental health.
Challenges and Impact of Your Support
Your contributions will help support the student experience both on and off the field. Your donation is an investment in these remarkable student-athletes as our future young leaders and the success of Thunderbird Women’s Rugby for years to come.
About the UBC Women’s Rugby
The UBC Women’s Rugby program believes in continuing the tradition of developing balanced student-athletes who demonstrate a range of dynamic abilities on and off the field. By focusing on this goal, we will work towards our program goal of becoming the best rugby development program in North America. In the 2024-25 season, the T-Birds won their first ever U Sports National Rugby Championship and won the National 7s Championship for the 2nd year. Rachel Smith was named the U Sports National Rugby Championship MVP.
