Project Description

Formula UBC designs and builds a brand-new race car each year to compete in the prestigious Formula SAE international competition, where the world’s top university teams battle it out. This competition pushes us to brainstorm, design, manufacture and develop a high-performance, Formula 1-style vehicle from the ground up. We face a series of rigorous on-track and off-track events that test everything from the car’s design to its overall performance and reliability.

But it’s not just about racing—it’s about the skills, teamwork and real-world experience we gain along the way. From engineering to project management, every member of our team develops the skills that will shape our future careers.

Challenges and Impact of Your Support

We need your help to make our 2025 race car a reality and get it ready to compete at Formula SAE in Michigan. This year, we’re aiming to build a winning car, but to do that, we need to upgrade our tools and materials. Many of our current tools have become outdated and to take our car to the next level, we need to invest in top-of-the-line equipment. Every dollar you contribute will go directly towards purchasing these essential tools, helping us streamline our manufacturing process and boost our performance on the track. We’re a passionate team of over 75 students, all driven by a passion for engineering, design, and racing. Every year, we come together to design, build and test a brand-new race car from the ground up, competing in the renowned Formula SAE international competition. Our team is a dynamic mix of students from all disciplines, each bringing their unique skills and ideas to the table.
