UBC Rocket 2026 Competitions

Help UBC Rocket reach new heights! Support our ambitious student-led engineering projects as we compete on the national and international stage.

Project Description

This year, UBC Rocket is preparing to compete on both the national and international stage. Building on our 2nd and 3rd place finishes at Launch Canada 2024, we’re ready to raise the bar once again.

This season, we plan to compete at three events. All four of our projects will launch at the Launch Canada Challenge, a national rocketry competition held in Timmins, Ontario. We will also re-launch our rockets at a second competition in Texas, putting months of design, testing and iteration to the ultimate test.

Our four projects this year include a rocket built almost entirely in-house, a self-landing prototype, a scientific research payload and new testing infrastructure to support even more ambitious future launches.

Competing at this level requires significant resources, including solid motors, competition fees and travel costs for our team.

Challenges and Impact of Your Support

Greater ambition brings greater cost. Behind every rocket are students dedicating countless hours to design, fabrication and testing, all while balancing coursework and life in an expensive city.

Your contribution helps cover materials, equipment, competition fees and travel expenses. When you support UBC Rocket, you’re not just funding hardware. You’re enabling student-led engineering, hands-on design and testing and the training of future aerospace engineers.

Every contribution directly supports our students and strengthens our projects as we prepare to represent UBC and Canada on the national and international stage. Join us in making this launch possible. Your gift helps turn ambition into achievement!

Are you an organization or business and want to support us? Corporate sponsorship opportunities are available. Give through our Corporate Giving and Sponsorship page or contact us at ngoizuet@student.ubc.ca to discuss further.

About UBC Rocket

UBC Rocket is a team of 110 members from various disciplines and faculties, united by a shared passion for rocketry and aerospace innovation. Our sub-teams span engineering, software, research and operations, giving members hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of rocket development.

Our mission is to foster hands-on engineering experience and a lasting interest in rocketry, while providing our members and the broader community with opportunities to learn and engage with aerospace engineering. Each season presents new challenges, and we embrace them as opportunities to showcase the skill, dedication, and ambition that drive our team forward.
