UBC AeroDesign is not just a team; it’s an aerospace adventure! With a dynamic crew of 73 members, we’re not just aiming high—we’re soaring towards ambitious missions that make engineering come alive. We’re not just participating; we’re in it to win it. Competing in the SAE Aero Design Micro and Advanced Class Competitions, our aim is to secure a spot in the top 3. Our mission goes beyond competitions. We’re working to generate interest in aerospace engineering, connecting with communities across British Columbia, and inspiring the next generation of engineers.
Challenges and Impact of Your Support
Heading to the SAE Aero Design 2024 in Van Nuys, California is a pricey venture for us. The whole deal—travel, accommodations and getting our aircraft there—adds up. Without the financial backing from crowdfunding donors and corporate sponsors, attending the competition might not be feasible.

Since 1992, our assembly of aviation enthusiasts and dreamers has thrived with the invaluable support of donors like you, transforming our aspirations into reality within the realm of world-class aviation projects. As one of the largest and most diverse engineering student teams on campus, we boast 72 actively engaged members spanning ten different departments, ranging from first-year students to those pursuing biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering.
As spring unfolds, the dedication of our team intensifies. Each member invests over 15 hours a week, tirelessly redesigning and manufacturing to ensure we’re ready for the impending competition.
