Help Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Take Off
UBC Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) is ready to take flight with innovative drones designed to tackle today’s most pressing real-world challenges. From detecting wildfires to delivering packages, our engineering team is solving problems that matter.
This year, we’re preparing for the national AEAC and international SUAS competitions, where our cutting-edge drones will be put to the test. We’re tackling new challenges with ambitious designs, from wildfire response drones to autonomous delivery systems capable of delivering medical supplies to remote areas faster and more efficiently. These systems have the potential to provide life-saving aid in emergencies, ensuring essential items like medications or first aid kits reach those in need without delay.
Let’s reach for the skies—together!
Project Description
UBC UAS creates advanced uncrewed aircraft systems that address important issues like wildfire detection and package delivery. By developing these technologies, we’re contributing to innovative solutions for today’s most pressing issues. In short, we’re not just building drones that fly—we’re building drones that can save lives.
Challenges and Impact of Your Support
Building drones that solve real-world problems and stand out in international competitions is no small feat. It requires top-quality materials, advanced technology and countless hours of testing to get every detail just right. From designing durable, lightweight frames to developing AI for autonomous navigation, our work demands innovation and precision at every step.
The costs of materials like high-power motors, long-lasting battery packs and onboard AI systems add up quickly. Testing prototypes and refining designs also take significant resources, as we ensure our drones are ready to tackle challenges like wildfire detection, firefighting and package delivery. On top of that, travel, accommodation and registration fees for competitions make this an ambitious and costly endeavour.
Your support makes all the difference. Every dollar helps us take another step toward building innovative drones that aren’t just tools—they’re solutions. With your help today, we can showcase UBC’s talent on a global stage while addressing critical issues like disaster response and logistics.

About the UBC Uncrewed Aircraft Systems
UBC UAS is a community of over 60 passionate students from 10 faculties, united by a shared dream of advancing aerospace innovation. Since 2015, we’ve poured our hearts into designing and building drones that push the limits of what’s possible, earning 12 prestigious awards along the way.
This year, our work takes on even greater significance as we prepare for the national AEAC and international SUAS competitions. These events challenge us to showcase not just technical skill but creativity and teamwork, all while addressing real-world challenges like wildfire detection and delivering critical supplies to remote areas.
None of this is possible without support from people like you. Your contribution today can help empower students to turn ideas into reality, represent UBC on the global stage and create drones that can truly make a difference.
